Nominees for the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2015 awards revealed




The contenders for this year’s FIFA Ballon d’Or Award for the best player of 2015 and for the FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year 2015 Award have been announced today on FIFA.com, francefootball.fr and on FIFA’s YouTube channel in a show hosted by Kate Abdo (Sky Sports) with expert analysis from Nadine Kessler (German national team player and FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year 2014) and Edgar Davids (former Dutch national team player and winner of the UEFA Champions League 1994-1995).

The nominees for the FIFA Ballon d’Or are, in alphabetical order: Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Real Madrid), Lionel Messi (Argentina/FC Barcelona) and Neymar (Brazil/FC Barcelona). Meanwhile, Carli Lloyd (USA/Houston Dash), Aya Miyama (Japan/Okayama Yunogo Belle), and Célia Šašić (Germany/1. FFC Frankfurt) are in the running for the women’s award.

The 10 Nominees For The 2015 Puskas Awards


The Puskas Award takes into account thousands of goals scored between 27 September 2014 and 23 September 2015.
Last year Colombia attacking midfielder James Rodriguez won the award for his volleyed goal at the 2014 World Cup.
The final three candidates will be announced on 30 November. The players in the top ten are as follows:

The superstar trio of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, are missing from a list of top 20 free-kick takers rated by FIFA 14.

Instead, names like Juan Arango, Andrea Pirlo and Didier Drogba make the top five.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Girlfriend, Irina Shayk, Refuses To Cut Up A Messi Shirt



She maybe Ronaldo’s girlfriend, but Irina Shayk is savvy enough not to get involved in the never-ending comparisons between Lionel Messi and her man Cristiano.
This week Irina Shayk was in Greece for an MTV party, when the Russian model was interviewed by a Greek reporter on the red carpet.
The Greek local handed Shayk a replica Lionel Messi shirt together with a pair of scissors, and he asked her if she’d like to cut it up.
Shayk’s response was classy.
After immediately saying ‘no’ to the publicity stunt, Shayk took the scissors and began attacking the reporters hair. She then told the reporter to cut Messi’s shirt if he was so inclined, and the reporter wasted little time doing just that.
