'Don't get anyone's name!' Nick Cannon gives Meredith Vieira advice after revealing how 'painful' it was to cover his 'Mariah' tattoo

Nick Cannon gave Meredith Vieira sage advice on the subject of tattoos while appearing on her NBC daytime talk show on Friday.
'Don't get anyone's name!' the newly single 34-year-old yelled as he shared the 'painful' progress of his 'Mariah' tattoo cover-up.
The America's Got Talent host is in the midst of having the 45-year-old pop diva's name replaced with a massive crucified Jesus.

'It's like a whole work of art, my entire back and my arm and everything,' Nick told the 60-year-old host.
'I was leaving the gym going into the studio just having had that work done and they [the paparazzi] got me. It's going to be a big reveal eventually, but it's not finished, it's half-way done. It's a lot of pain.'
Cannon announced he and Carey were separating in June after six years of marriage, and she's reportedly started the 'divorce process.'

The Emmy nominee said their three-year-old fraternal twins Monroe and Moroccan were doing just fine despite the split.
'They love mommy, they love daddy. Being the fact our situation, we have always been people who have been on the go coming and going, their life hasn't changed one bit,' Nick revealed.
'We spend holidays together, we do everything that we are supposed to do together as a family...It's truly just staying focused on family and what's right and getting through these times and doing what's right for the kids, so that's just where we are.'

A full-blown divorce might be more difficult due to Mariah's $500 million fortune and their lavish homes in New York, Los Angeles, Aspen, and Windermere Island (in the Bahamas).
The former couple also share a $5 million private jet and a cavalcade of cars - including a $400,000 Lamborghini.
Cannon will reprise his role as Devon Miles in Drumline: A New Beat, which airs Monday on VH1.

The SAG Award nominee also plays 'himself' in the third season of reality TV spoof - Real Husbands of Hollywood - which airs Tuesdays on BET.
Meanwhile, the five-time Grammy winner is touring Asia with The Elusive Chanteuse Show, which next stops at the Singapore National Stadium on Friday night.
The former American Idol judge - who divorced Tommy Mottola in 1998 - was dealt another blow when her Me. I Am Mariah album sold a dismal 125,000 copies in the States.
